Lifting Equipment Safety Notice

Interim stop-use safety notice: Fluid Industries lifting equipment

Issued 07 October 2026. Last updated 07 October 2026.

If you own or use any of the lifting equipment listed below, stop using it for lifting now and tag it out of service until we contact you with an update.

Why we are issuing this notice

During a review of our records, Fluid Industries Plumbing found that the Safe Working Load (SWL) certificates supplied with our tank-making lifting equipment do not include the procedural documentation needed for them to be relied on as independent certification of the SWL.

We want to be clear about what this does and does not mean. It does not mean that we have found the equipment to be defective, or that any item has failed. It means that the independent verification which should support the marked Lifting rating cannot presently be confirmed, and we are not prepared to leave equipment in Lifting service on a rating we cannot verify.

Products covered

  • A112 – Lifting clamp (vice clamp tank lifter)
  • A120.1-9 – Assembly Straps
  • A122 – Ratchet Buckle
  • A124 & A126 – Rotating buckle (tank rotator)
  • A124-1 – Rotating Buckle Belt Clip

This notice applies to all of these items supplied by Fluid Industries Plumbing between 2007 and 2026; regardless of the SWL marked on the item or stated on its certificate.

What you need to do

  1. Stop using the equipment for Lifting immediately. Do not use any affected item for Lifting, suspending, supporting or restraining any load.
  2. Remove it from Lifting service and tag it. Attach an out-of-service tag to each item. A tag you can print and use, is provided at the back of this notice.
  3. Quarantine it. Store the tagged items in a segregated location where they cannot be picked up and used by mistake for Lifting.
  4. Tell your workers and anyone else who uses the equipment. Include contractors, labour hire and site visitors who may have access to it, that the Lifting function of the equipment must not be used.
  5. Do not repair, modify, re-test, re-mark or re-rate the equipment. Doing so may destroy evidence we need for the assessment.
  6. Do not scrap or dispose of it. We may need to inspect items from the field.
  7. Complete and return the acknowledgement form at the back of this notice by 30.10.2026.
  8. You may continue to use the equipment for ASSEMBLY purposes only, that Do Not involve any lifting function as defined in page 1 of the Stop Use Safety Notice.

What happens next

Fluid Industries Plumbing has commenced a new program to establish verified Safe Working Load ratings for the affected equipment through a properly documented certification process. We expect to be in a position to write to you again with an update by 30.11.2026

We will write to you again when the position is resolved. Until you receive that further written notice from us, the equipment must remain out of Lifting service

We recognise that this is disruptive and we are sorry for the inconvenience it causes you. We would rather cause you that inconvenience than leave equipment in service on a rating we cannot verify at this time
